Fleet Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the operational efficiency and upkeep of their diverse vehicle fleet in Belfast . This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of fleet operations, maintenance scheduling, and cost management. You will be instrumental in ensuring the fleet remains compliant, safe, and operational, minimising downtime and maximising asset utilisation, fostering a culture of preventative maintenance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for the entire fleet.
• Manage all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing, coordinating with internal workshops and external suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to fleet operations.
• Control fleet maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimising expenditure.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet status, maintenance history, and operational costs.
• Lead and motivate a team of mechanics and support staff, promoting high performance and professional development.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in managing a large commercial vehicle fleet.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate effectively with suppliers.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A relevant qualification in Logistics, Engineering, or Fleet Management is advantageous.
