Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Freight Forwarder to manage the end-to-end movement of goods for their international clients from their Liverpool base. This role requires a deep understanding of global shipping regulations, customs procedures, and transportation modes. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, clients, and customs authorities to ensure the smooth, timely, and cost-effective transit of freight. This position is ideal for an individual with excellent organizational skills and a proven track record in international logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage international shipments via air, sea, and land transportation.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and commercial invoices.
• Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, trucking companies, and customs brokers to ensure efficient transit.
• Provide clients with regular updates on shipment status and resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade laws, customs regulations, and transport safety standards.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing and optimize costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
• Experience with various transportation modes (air, sea, road) and their associated documentation.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and ERP systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex international logistics challenges.
