Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and analytical Geologist specializing in Exploration to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is pivotal in identifying and evaluating new mineral resources, contributing to the company's future growth and profitability. You will be involved in the entire exploration lifecycle, from initial desktop studies and field reconnaissance to detailed exploration drilling and data analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of geological principles, advanced analytical techniques, and a passion for discovering valuable mineral deposits within the UK and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desktop studies, including literature reviews and database analysis, to identify potential exploration targets.
• Plan and execute field exploration programs, including geological mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys.
• Manage and interpret data from exploration drilling programs, including core logging and assay analysis.
• Utilize geological software for 3D modeling, resource estimation, and spatial analysis.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations during field operations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on target generation and evaluation.
• Proficiency in geological mapping, structural analysis, and geochemical sampling techniques.
• Experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine) and GIS applications.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological datasets.
• Willingness to travel to remote field sites as required, with a flexible approach to work.
