Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and analytical Geologist specializing in exploration to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological fieldwork, including mapping, sampling, and surveying.
• Analyze and interpret geological data from various sources, including drilling, geophysics, and geochemistry.
• Identify and evaluate potential mineral exploration targets using advanced software and methodologies.
• Prepare detailed geological reports, cross-sections, and resource estimates.
• Collaborate with mining engineers and geophysicists to integrate exploration data into mine planning.
• Ensure all field activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration geology.
• Proficiency in geological mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, Leapfrog) and data analysis tools.
• Experience with various exploration techniques, including drilling supervision and core logging.
• Strong understanding of economic geology and deposit modelling.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
