Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Geophysicist with expertise in seismic data interpretation to join their exploration team based remotely, supporting operations connected to Leeds . This role involves the analysis and interpretation of seismic, gravity, and magnetic data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build subsurface models and assess geological risks. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented geophysicist to contribute to significant exploration projects from a remote location, leveraging advanced software and analytical techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, analyze, and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to delineate geological structures and identify potential reservoirs.
• Integrate seismic data with other geological and geophysical datasets for comprehensive subsurface mapping.
• Utilize state-of-the-art geophysical software for data visualization, interpretation, and attribute analysis.
• Perform risk assessment for exploration prospects, quantifying uncertainties and potential resource volumes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share interpretations and findings.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in seismic interpretation and exploration geophysics.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the Oil & Gas exploration sector.
• Proficiency with seismic interpretation software packages (e.g., OpendTect, Kingdom Suite, Petrel).
• Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and geological principles.
• Experience with inversion techniques and geostatistical analysis is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
