About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Geophysicist specializing in Seismic Interpretation to join their exploration team in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This critical role involves the analysis and interpretation of seismic data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. You will collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build subsurface models and support exploration and development decisions. Key Responsibilities

Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures, stratigraphy, and potential reservoir targets.
Perform velocity analysis, depth conversion, and seismic attribute analysis.
Integrate seismic interpretations with well log data, core data, and geological models.
Contribute to prospect risking and volumetric assessments.
Prepare detailed geophysical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize exploration and appraisal strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related geophysical science.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Hampson-Russell, GeoDepth).
Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and imaging principles.
Experience with structural interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and attribute analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication abilities.
