About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly competent Geotechnical Engineer with a specialization in mining to join their established team in Bristol . This role is critical for assessing and managing the stability of mine excavations, waste dumps, and surrounding geological structures. You will provide expert advice on ground support, slope stability, and seismic risk assessment to ensure safe and efficient mining operations. This is a key position for a professional seeking to contribute their specialized skills to major projects within the mining industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations and laboratory testing to characterize rock and soil mass properties.
- Perform slope stability and open-pit stability analyses.
- Design and recommend ground support systems for underground excavations.
- Assess seismic hazards and develop mitigation strategies for mining environments.
- Provide geotechnical input for mine design, planning, and operations.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering , Civil Engineering, or Mining Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant focus on mining applications .
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Rocscience suite, GeoStudio).
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and structural geology.
- Experience in field investigations, data collection, and interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and client liaison.
