Golf Course Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to manage and maintain the pristine conditions of their prestigious course located in the scenic surroundings of Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of course agronomy, including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest and disease control, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of horticultural best practices and a passion for delivering an exceptional playing surface for members and visitors alike, contributing significantly to the club's reputation and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass health, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
• Supervise, train, and manage a team of groundskeepers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality maintenance standards.
• Manage the course maintenance budget effectively, including equipment, supplies, and labor costs.
• Operate and maintain a range of specialized golf course maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and promote sustainable course management practices.
• Collaborate with club management and golf professionals to meet course playability and aesthetic objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Assistant or Golf Course Superintendent , or equivalent role in turfgrass management.
• A degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in irrigation system management , fertilization programs, and integrated pest management techniques.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
• Knowledge of golf course operations and playing surface expectations.
