Golf Course Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to manage the exceptional upkeep and presentation of their prestigious facility in Aberdeen . This pivotal role ensures the highest standards of turfgrass health, course aesthetics, and playability, contributing directly to member satisfaction and the club's reputation. You will lead a team of groundskeepers, implement innovative agronomic practices, and manage all aspects of course maintenance, working closely with club management to align with strategic objectives and maintain a world-class golfing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for the maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf, bunkers, greens, and practice areas.
• Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic programs focusing on irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and disease management .
• Manage, train, and schedule a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high performance.
• Operate and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment, ensuring safety and optimal functionality.
• Monitor course conditions, making timely adjustments to maintenance practices to ensure optimal playability and presentation, especially during peak seasons and tournaments.
• Manage the departmental budget, controlling costs related to labour, materials, and equipment without compromising quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, agronomy , and integrated pest management principles.
• Experience with golf course irrigation systems and maintenance equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Relevant horticultural or agronomy certifications are highly desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by course maintenance needs.
