Golf Course Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and presentation of their prestigious golf course in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of turfgrass care, groundskeeping, and horticultural operations to ensure the highest standards of playability and aesthetic appeal. You will lead a team of grounds staff, utilizing your expertise in agronomy and landscape management to create an exceptional experience for members and visitors alike, contributing to the club's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive turf management programs , including irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease control.
• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of groundskeepers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Operate and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Manage the grounds maintenance budget , including labor, materials, and capital expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and promote sustainable course management practices.
• Collaborate with club management and committees to align course conditions with strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of agronomy, turfgrass science, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management) principles.
• Experience with irrigation systems, GPS technology , and course maintenance equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Relevant horticultural or agronomy qualifications are highly desirable.
