About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to manage the daily operations and long-term maintenance of their premier golf facility located in Leicester . This pivotal role involves overseeing a team of groundskeepers, ensuring the impeccable condition of the course, and implementing sustainable agronomic practices. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of playability and aesthetics, contributing directly to the overall member and guest experience. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive course maintenance plans, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease control programs.
• Supervise, train, and schedule grounds maintenance staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage the course budget effectively, controlling expenses related to labor, materials, and equipment.
• Operate and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and properly calibrated.
• Monitor turf health and playing conditions, making timely adjustments to agronomic strategies to optimize course quality throughout the seasons.
• Implement and manage integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and water conservation techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of turfgrass science, soil science, and pest/disease management.
• Experience with irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and budget management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications such as GCSAA certification are highly desirable.
