About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on Continuous Improvement to join their team in Nottingham . This role is integral to enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and driving a culture of ongoing improvement within the manufacturing and operational departments. You will work closely with production teams to identify waste, implement best practices, and contribute to achieving key performance targets. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for an engineer passionate about making a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis, observation, and collaboration with operational staff.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to reduce waste and improve workflow.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in the design and optimization of plant layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
- Support the troubleshooting of production issues and the implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the progress of continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role, with a demonstrated passion for continuous improvement.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and basic Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience with process mapping and data analysis techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
