About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Industrial Process Engineer to join their operations team in Birmingham . This role offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and implementing cutting-edge engineering solutions within manufacturing environments. This position requires a proactive individual with a solid understanding of process improvement methodologies and the ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings. You will contribute directly to the company's strategic goals by optimizing workflows and ensuring the highest standards of operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for efficiency improvements.
- Design, test, and implement new production methods and process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including flowcharts, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technology to enhance process capabilities and reduce operational costs.
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow and workforce productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial engineering role, focusing on process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency with relevant software such as CAD, simulation tools, and data analysis software.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to identifying root causes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid setting.
