About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their entirely remote team, supporting operations across the UK. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing the security infrastructure that protects our digital assets. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining secure systems, responding to threats, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
- Automate security processes and tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify vulnerabilities.
- Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents and breaches.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and business continuity strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing various security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows & Linux), and cloud security principles (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with scripting for automation and experience with security best practices in a remote work environment.
