About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Sunderland . This role is essential for maintaining and improving the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems. You will be hands-on in implementing, managing, and monitoring security technologies to protect against cyber threats. Key Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and maintain security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security.
- Monitor network and system logs for security anomalies and potential threats using SIEM tools.
- Respond to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing containment and remediation measures.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability scans to ensure system integrity.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT operations to ensure security best practices are integrated into system deployments and configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in an information security or network security role.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
- Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
- Ability to analyze security logs and events effectively.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards is a plus.
