About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and meticulous Insurance Claims Adjuster to join their team in Norwich . This role is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling insurance claims in a fair and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction while protecting the company's interests. You will act as a key point of contact for policyholders, assessing damages, negotiating settlements, and making claim decisions. This hybrid position allows for a balance between field investigations and office-based administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate insurance claims by gathering information, interviewing claimants and witnesses, and inspecting damaged property.
- Evaluate policy coverage and determine the extent of the insurer's liability.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants or their representatives in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.
- Document all claim activities, decisions, and settlements accurately in the claims management system.
- Ensure claims are processed efficiently and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage a caseload of diverse claims, prioritizing urgent matters and meeting service level agreements.
- Provide clear and empathetic communication to policyholders throughout the claims process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an insurance claims adjuster or in a similar role.
- Understanding of insurance policies, claims procedures, and relevant legal/regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and make sound judgments.
- Willingness to travel locally for inspections and meetings as part of a hybrid role.
