About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and organised Insurance Claims Handler to join their dedicated team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to ensuring our customers receive prompt and fair settlement of their insurance claims. You will manage a portfolio of claims, from initial notification through to closure, requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and administrative skills. The successful candidate will be committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the integrity of the claims process within a busy and supportive office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log new insurance claims efficiently and accurately.
- Investigate claims by gathering relevant information, including policy details, incident reports, and witness statements.
- Assess liability and coverage, making decisions on claim validity in line with policy terms.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with policyholders, third parties, and repair networks.
- Negotiate and agree settlements within your delegated authority.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all claim activities and communications.
Requirements
- Previous experience in insurance claims handling or a similar customer-focused administrative role.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and policy wordings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using claims management systems and standard office software.
- A methodical approach to work with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
