About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-focused Junior Industrial Engineer to join their innovative team in Portsmouth . This role provides an excellent foundation for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in optimizing production processes, implementing lean methodologies, and contributing to operational efficiency improvements. You will work closely with senior engineers and production teams, supporting the analysis of workflows, data collection, and the implementation of practical solutions that enhance productivity and reduce waste. This is a great opportunity to develop key engineering skills in a supportive, hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of current manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, such as 5S, Kaizen events, and visual management.
- Collect and analyze production data to track performance and measure the impact of implemented changes.
- Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process optimization and problem-solving.
- Support senior engineers in project planning, execution, and reporting activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial engineering or manufacturing support role.
- Basic understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to a hybrid working model in Portsmouth .
