About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Automotive Chassis Engineer to join their prestigious engineering department in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This pivotal role involves leading the design, development, and validation of advanced vehicle chassis systems, including suspension, steering, and braking. You will be responsible for defining system requirements, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring that chassis performance meets the highest standards of handling, safety, and comfort for next-generation vehicles. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive chassis systems (suspension, steering, braking) from concept to production.
• Define system requirements, performance targets, and validation strategies for chassis components and assemblies.
• Manage and mentor a team of chassis engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Conduct system-level testing and analysis, interpreting results to optimize performance and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with vehicle integration, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system implementation.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in chassis engineering, proposing innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in automotive chassis engineering , with a strong background in suspension, steering, or braking systems.
• Proven experience in a lead or senior engineering role, demonstrating leadership and project management skills.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for simulation and analysis (e.g., ADAMS, ANSYS).
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and their application in chassis design.
• Experience with testing and validation methodologies for automotive chassis systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
