About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Process Safety to join their fully remote team. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and driving a culture of safety throughout the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
- Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessment studies, including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Develop and review safety-critical procedures, emergency response plans, and incident investigation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety matters to engineering and operational teams.
- Lead and mentor a team of process safety engineers in a remote setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety-focused discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical engineering with a dedicated focus on process safety.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety design principles.
- Experience with safety software and tools for consequence modelling.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, COMAH).
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills, crucial for remote leadership.
