Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts in Newcastle upon Tyne . In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organisation's cybersecurity infrastructure to protect against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-wide cybersecurity solutions, including network security, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention.

• Develop and implement security architecture frameworks and standards to align with business objectives and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex security projects.
• Deep understanding of network protocols, security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR), and cloud security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and compliance requirements.
