About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their security engineering initiatives in Birmingham . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions.
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of security tools, including firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Develop and enforce security architecture standards and best practices across all IT projects.
- Manage security incident response activities, ensuring swift and effective resolution of breaches.
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to proactively identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
- Mentor and guide a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex security projects.
- Expertise in network security, application security, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), and identity and access management (IAM).
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to the industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
