Our client is searching for a visionary Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their security engineering initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position involves architecting, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions to defend against sophisticated cyber threats. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions , including network security, cloud security, and application security.
- Develop and enforce security standards, guidelines, and best practices across the IT infrastructure.
- Manage and oversee the incident response process, coordinating efforts to contain and remediate security breaches.
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to proactively identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
- Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools to enhance protection capabilities.
- Mentor and guide a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering their technical and professional growth.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS), and cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in scripting and automation for security tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Strong knowledge of threat intelligence, malware analysis, and digital forensics.
- Relevant advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC Security Expert (GSE) are essential.
