About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead their engineering initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This pivotal role involves leading a team of mechanical engineers, managing complex projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance mechanical systems. You will be instrumental in setting technical direction, fostering innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers , overseeing project execution and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement strategic engineering plans aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure seamless product development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department, focusing on efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering , with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in product development , system design, and project management.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, including CAD, FEA, and CFD.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials selection.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
