Lead Electrical Engineer - Grid Modernization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead critical projects focused on grid modernization in Birmingham . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for grid modernization projects, including substations and transmission infrastructure.
• Develop technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project execution plans for electrical systems.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment and control systems.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful project delivery on schedule and within scope.
• Ensure all electrical designs and installations meet stringent safety codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering , with a strong focus on power systems and grid infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of high-voltage equipment , protection systems, and grid control technologies.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Proficiency in relevant CAD software and electrical design tools (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
