About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team, based out of Birmingham . This is a critical role responsible for guiding the mechanical design strategy and execution for innovative new products. You will be instrumental in defining technical roadmaps, overseeing complex design projects, and fostering a culture of technical excellence within a distributed workforce. Key Responsibilities
- Drive the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced mechanical systems and products, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a global team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative remote work environment.
- Conduct rigorous design reviews, risk assessments, and validation processes to guarantee product reliability and performance.
- Develop and maintain robust documentation, including detailed technical specifications, design reports, and project plans.
- Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions and technologies to enhance product capabilities and manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product management, hardware, and software teams to ensure integrated and successful product launches.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on product design and development.
- Proven track record of leading engineering projects and managing technical teams in a remote setting.
- Expertise in advanced CAD modeling , simulation (FEA, CFD), and data analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control methodologies .
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills suited for a remote-first organization.
