About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead critical projects within their state-of-the-art facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of complex mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet stringent performance and safety standards.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress and managing risks effectively.
- Collaborate with senior management, R&D, and other departments to define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards throughout the design and development lifecycle.
- Champion innovation and research new technologies and methodologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
