About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Mining Engineer to oversee and optimize mining operations in the Coventry area. This senior position requires a strong understanding of underground and surface mining techniques, mine planning, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring that all mining activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine production plans.
- Supervise daily mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met.
- Manage and mentor a team of mining engineers, geologists, and operational staff.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of mining equipment and machinery.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Proven expertise in mine planning, design, and production management software.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and environmental management in mining.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with various mining methods, including blasting, excavation, and material handling.
