About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Lead Process Safety Engineer to spearhead process safety initiatives within their operations based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . This critical role involves ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all operational processes, from design through to decommissioning. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive process safety management systems, hazard identification, and risk reduction strategies. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in safety regulations and a passion for fostering a robust safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and conduct Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) , Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessment techniques.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of safety-critical equipment and procedures, including management of change (MOC) processes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety matters to engineering, operations, and management teams.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to enhance competency across the workforce in Milton Keynes .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in process safety engineering within the energy or chemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA , quantitative risk assessment (QRA), and SIL assessments.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing PSM programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
