Lean Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join their team, offering a remote-first working model with potential travel to their facility in Sunderland . This role is dedicated to driving the implementation and continuous improvement of Lean principles across all operational areas. You will leverage your expertise to eliminate waste, enhance workflow, and foster a culture of efficiency and productivity. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the identification and elimination of waste in all forms (e.g., overproduction, waiting, transport, over-processing, inventory, motion, defects).
• Develop and deploy Lean tools and methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen events, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Train and mentor employees at all levels on Lean principles and practices to embed a continuous improvement mindset.
• Analyze production data and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.
• Facilitate and manage Kaizen events and improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation and sustainable results.
• Collaborate with site leadership and operational teams to develop strategic roadmaps for Lean transformation.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in implementing and sustaining Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Lean principles and tools, with demonstrable success in driving efficiency gains.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and change management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage projects remotely.
• Experience in data analysis and performance reporting.
