Legal Counsel - Intellectual Property

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel with a specialization in Intellectual Property to join their innovative team in Brighton . This role involves providing strategic legal advice on IP matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, to protect and enhance the company's intellectual assets. You will work closely with R&D, marketing, and business development teams to manage IP portfolios and mitigate risks. Key Responsibilities

• Advise on all aspects of intellectual property law, including prosecution, enforcement, and licensing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, such as licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, and NDAs.
• Conduct IP due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
• Manage the company's patent and trademark portfolios, including filing and maintenance strategies.
• Develop and implement strategies to protect the company's IP assets and defend against infringement.
• Stay abreast of developments in IP law and advise on their impact on the business.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a strong background in Intellectual Property law.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in IP law, with a focus on patent and trademark matters.
• Experience in IP litigation, licensing, and portfolio management is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams in Brighton .
