About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join their vibrant team based in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and information throughout the supply chain. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation, managing shipments, and liaising with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. This hybrid position offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, perfect for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels at multitasking. You will contribute significantly to the efficiency of our client's logistics network, working closely with the wider operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries across various modes of transport.
- Track shipments in real-time and proactively communicate any delays or issues to stakeholders.
- Manage documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and proof of delivery.
- Liaise effectively with internal departments, external carriers, and clients to resolve logistical challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities using the company's transport management system (TMS).
- Assist in optimizing routes and transportation costs to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a logistics coordination or similar role.
- Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
