About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Birmingham . In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring smooth transportation, and maintaining effective communication between suppliers, carriers, and customers. You will manage shipping schedules, track shipments, resolve logistical issues, and maintain accurate records. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the logistics of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport companies to book shipments and negotiate rates.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to relevant stakeholders, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of all logistics activities and update the company's transportation management system (TMS).
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the shipping process, working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or shipping coordination role.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various parties.
• Familiarity with international shipping regulations and documentation is a plus.
• Based in or near Birmingham , with the ability to work a hybrid schedule.
