Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support their operations based in Birmingham . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, coordinating transportation, and managing logistics documentation. You will be the key point of contact for carriers, suppliers, and internal departments, ensuring timely deliveries and cost-effective logistics solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, contributing to the seamless flow of products through the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage carrier relationships, negotiate rates, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Prepare and process all necessary logistics documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
• Liaise with internal departments (sales, warehouse, purchasing) to resolve any logistical issues promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing stock movements to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Utilize logistics software to plan routes and optimize transportation costs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics , transportation, or supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of shipping procedures and carrier operations.
• Proficiency in using logistics management software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work model.
• Familiarity with import/export regulations is a plus.
