About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Logistics Planner to join their operations team in Belfast . This role is essential for optimizing the transportation of goods, ensuring that shipments are planned efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time. You will be responsible for route planning, carrier management, and coordinating with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics strategies. This is a prime opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving to contribute to a critical function within the company’s supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize transportation plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Schedule and coordinate shipments with internal teams, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
Monitor the progress of shipments and proactively address any issues or delays that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including costs, delivery times, and carrier performance.
Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to achieve cost savings and service level improvements.
Collaborate with sales and customer service to meet customer delivery expectations and resolve logistical queries.

Requirements

Previous experience in Logistics Planning , transportation coordination, or a similar role.
Proficiency in logistics planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with carriers.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make timely decisions.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices in the UK logistics sector.
