About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance production efficiency and product quality at their facility in Portsmouth . This hands-on role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges, optimising existing processes, and supporting new product introductions. You will work closely with production teams, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure smooth and effective operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement within the Hampshire area.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Support the installation, validation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyse data, and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
- Strong understanding of process control, statistical process control (SPC), and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD software and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
