About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Media Relations Officer to manage and enhance their public profile. This role offers a hybrid working model, blending remote flexibility with essential in-person collaboration at our Leeds office. You will be the primary point of contact for media inquiries, responsible for cultivating strong relationships with journalists and securing positive media coverage across traditional and digital platforms. This position requires a strategic thinker who can effectively communicate complex information and manage the company's reputation in a dynamic media landscape. You will play a crucial role in crafting and delivering compelling press materials and managing media interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming media inquiries and act as a key spokesperson for the organization when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain a database of media contacts and build strong working relationships.
- Write and distribute high-quality press releases, statements, and media kits.
- Pitch stories and proactively seek opportunities for positive media coverage.
- Monitor media mentions and analyze the impact of PR activities.
- Support senior management on media engagement and crisis communications.
Requirements
- Proven experience in media relations , public relations, or journalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong copywriting abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience working in a hybrid or office-based environment.
