Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute media outreach plans to secure positive press coverage across national and regional outlets.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships with key journalists and media stakeholders in Birmingham and beyond.
• Draft and disseminate press releases, statements, and media kits to relevant publications.
• Manage media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and provide spokespeople with briefing materials.
• Monitor media channels for mentions of the company, its competitors, and relevant industry news.
• Assist in the development and implementation of crisis communication plans.

Requirements

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in media relations, PR, or a similar communications role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft engaging narratives.
• Proven track record of building and nurturing media contacts.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
