About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and safety-focused Mine Health and Safety Officer to ensure a secure working environment for their operations in and around Nottingham, Nottinghamshire . This role is critical for implementing and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel. You will play a key part in preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety legislation in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training to employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards relevant to mining in Nottinghamshire .
- Maintain health and safety records and prepare reports for management.
Requirements
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the mining or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and hazard identification.
- Familiarity with site safety protocols in the Nottingham area.
