About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team for their operations in the Wolverhampton region. This critical role ensures the optimal functioning and longevity of all mining machinery and equipment, contributing directly to operational efficiency and safety. You will oversee preventive maintenance programs, manage repair activities, and lead a team of skilled technicians. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to manage maintenance operations in a demanding mining environment within the UK .
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and fabricators.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for all mining equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on heavy mining machinery.
- Ensure timely and efficient repairs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
- Manage spare parts inventory and oversee procurement of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures within the maintenance workshop and on the mine site.
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment, fixed plant machinery, and electrical systems.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and UK safety standards for mining equipment.
