About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent , operating under a hybrid working model. You will be responsible for accurately mapping underground and surface mine workings, ensuring precise control for mining operations, and verifying volumes and quantities for reporting. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and proficiency with modern surveying technology. You will be integral to ensuring the safety and efficiency of extraction activities, providing critical data for mine planning and production management within the mining sector .
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points and map mine workings.
- Utilize total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying equipment for precise data acquisition.
- Prepare detailed survey plans, cross-sections, and contour maps of mine sites.
- Calculate and verify volumes of ore, waste rock, and stockpile material.
- Monitor ground movement and subsidence, reporting any potential risks.
- Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide essential survey data for planning and operations in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably with underground experience.
- Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, Deswik) and data processing tools.
- Experience with a variety of surveying instruments and techniques relevant to mining .
- Strong understanding of mine layout and development principles.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, suitable for hybrid work.
