About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join their operational team near Sheffield . You will be responsible for conducting accurate surveys of underground and surface mining operations, ensuring precise measurements for planning, development, and production. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and proficiency with modern surveying equipment and software. The Mine Surveyor plays a crucial role in maintaining operational integrity and safety by providing essential spatial data, contributing to efficient resource extraction and responsible land management within the mining sector, working closely with engineering and geology departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise underground and surface surveys for mine development and production.
- Prepare and maintain mine plans, maps, and survey records using CAD software.
- Conduct volumetric calculations for ore reserves and stockpile inventory.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to ensure accurate spatial data integration.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor or related surveying role.
- Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Carlson Survey) and hardware.
- Experience with 3D laser scanning and drone surveying techniques is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of mining operations and surveying principles.
