About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to join their team in Plymouth, Devon . This role is critical for accurately mapping and measuring underground and surface mining operations, ensuring precise control over excavations, infrastructure, and resource boundaries. You will utilize state-of-the-art surveying equipment and techniques to provide essential spatial data that guides mining operations, aids in resource estimation, and ensures compliance with legal and operational requirements. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse mining projects in a beautiful coastal region, contributing directly to the efficiency and accuracy of extraction processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct precise surveys of mine workings, including underground tunnels, open pits, and surface infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks for mining operations.
- Prepare accurate topographical maps , cross-sections, and 3D models of the mine.
- Monitor ground movement and subsidence, providing data for stability assessments.
- Work closely with mine engineers and geologists to integrate survey data into planning and operations.
- Ensure all survey data is collected, processed, and archived according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Mine Surveyor or possess a degree/diploma in Surveying or Geomatics.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in underground or open-pit environments.
- Proficiency with modern surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners.
- Experience with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, or similar.
- Strong understanding of spatial data management and coordinate systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently in challenging site conditions.
