About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Mine Surveyor to join their team based in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy of mine workings, volumes, and geological data, directly impacting operational planning and safety. You will work closely with mine management, engineers, and geologists to provide precise survey data for both underground and surface operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct precise surface and underground surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine site.
- Measure and record mine development, ore tonnages, and excavation volumes accurately.
- Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and reports for mine planning and management.
- Assist in the monitoring of ground stability and mine deformation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant surveying standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Qualification in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably within the UK mining sector .
- Proficiency with surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and mine modeling software.
- Strong understanding of survey principles and their application in mining environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and reporting.
