About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their remote team, supporting underground mining operations near Liverpool . This role is paramount for ensuring safe and healthy working conditions by designing, implementing, and managing effective ventilation systems. You will be responsible for maintaining air quality, controlling dust and gas levels, and managing thermal comfort within the underground environment, adhering to strict safety regulations for the UK mining sector. Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow, air quality, and temperature control.
• Conduct ventilation surveys, airflow measurements, and gas monitoring to assess system performance.
• Develop and implement dust and fume suppression strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.
• Specify ventilation equipment, including fans, ducting, and control systems.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine designs and production schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a specialization in ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining environments.
• Strong understanding of mine ventilation principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency with ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Whitsed).
• Knowledge of UK mining health and safety legislation related to ventilation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
