About the Role
Our client is looking for a specialized and forward-thinking Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team remotely. This position is crucial for ensuring optimal air quality, thermal comfort, and overall safety within underground mining operations. You will design, model, and implement ventilation systems, manage air quality monitoring, and advise on the safe operation of mines concerning ventilation. This role requires a deep technical understanding of mine ventilation principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with on-site teams and management through digital channels. Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and optimize mine ventilation systems for underground mining operations.
- Conduct airflow and contaminant dispersion modelling using specialized software (e.g., Ventsim, Buff).
- Develop and implement mine air quality monitoring programs and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations related to mine ventilation and air quality.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations on ventilation challenges, including heat management and dust control.
- Collaborate with mine planning, operations, and safety teams to integrate ventilation strategies into overall mine design and operation.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in ventilation.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in mine ventilation engineering .
- Proficiency with mine ventilation software for design, simulation, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality principles.
- Experience with underground mine environments and associated challenges.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and remote communication skills.
