About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Mineral Processing Engineer to contribute to their advanced processing plant operations in Glasgow . This role is essential for optimizing the recovery of valuable minerals from ore, focusing on efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for process design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of comminution, flotation, leaching, and other mineral processing techniques, ensuring optimal performance in a demanding mining environment .
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize existing mineral processing circuits to improve recovery, grade, and throughput.
- Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to troubleshoot process issues and identify areas for improvement.
- Design and commission new processing equipment and plant modifications.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.
- Monitor plant performance, analyze operational data, and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure plant reliability and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy.
- Proven expertise in various mineral processing techniques (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, gravity separation, leaching).
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Metsim, HSC Chemistry).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, vital for operations in Glasgow .
