About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Mineral Processing Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow . This role is fundamental to optimizing the extraction and concentration of valuable minerals from ore. You will be responsible for the design, operation, and improvement of processing plants, ensuring maximum recovery and product quality while adhering to environmental standards. This position requires a strong understanding of metallurgical principles and hands-on experience with processing equipment. You will work closely with mine operations and R&D teams to drive efficiency and sustainability in mineral beneficiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, commission, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct test work and pilot plant operations to evaluate new processing technologies.
- Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement solutions to improve recovery and grade.
- Develop and maintain process control strategies and operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with metallurgists, chemists, and plant operators to achieve production targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mineral Processing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing operations or design.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Strong knowledge of mineralogy, comminution, and separation techniques.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
