About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Mining Engineer to provide crucial operations support for their mining ventures based out of Portsmouth . This role will involve contributing to mine planning, optimizing extraction methods, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of daily mining activities. You will work closely with site operations, geologists, and management to implement practical solutions and improve overall productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and updating of short-term and long-term mine plans.
- Monitor operational performance against plans, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of new mining technologies and methodologies.
- Conduct field assessments to ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Prepare technical reports on production, safety, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment utilization and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations or mine planning .
- Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight).
- Strong understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods and equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate technical information clearly.
