About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Mining Operations Supervisor to lead and manage daily operational activities at their site near Brighton, East Sussex . This role is integral to ensuring that extraction targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You will supervise a team of miners and equipment operators, overseeing production, safety protocols, and equipment performance. The position involves a blend of on-site leadership and remote administrative tasks, offering a flexible hybrid working model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational supervision and a proven commitment to safety and productivity in the mining industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and material handling.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Monitor production targets and equipment performance, implementing measures to optimize efficiency.
- Provide leadership, training, and support to the operational teams under your supervision.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in incident investigations.
- Collaborate with mine planning and maintenance departments to coordinate activities and resources effectively.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Mining Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe mining practices and equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of production targets and operational efficiency metrics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance on-site supervision with remote administrative duties.
